Our Story
The CORTIINA is the result of one of Munich’s most inspiring partnerships – that between restaurateur Rudi Kull and architect Albert Weinzierl.
Originals
It all started in 1996 with a French bistro in New York style – a vision that Rudi Kull brought with him to Munich from his top locations in Los Angeles and New York and which his partner Albert Weinzierl implemented with a passion for detail, that is incomparable. In 2001, Kull and Weinzierl brought the concept of the boutique design hotel to Munich – with the CORTIINA.
Today, in addition to the CORTIINA, the two stand behind 5 individual, timeless bars and restaurants for more than 25 years, which have had a lasting influence and inspiration on Munich’s gastronomy scene. “We feel the soul of a place, and only then do we try to find out what we can implement in it. Architecture & Design
With its Feng Shui-inspired ambience, the CORTIINA is an icon for the shared philosophy of Kull and Weinzierl, which combines sophisticated design, outstanding service and a unique, authentic relationship with the surrounding neighborhood.
Warm earth tones and regional natural materials form a symbiosis with the furniture, specially designed by Albert Weinzierl for the CORTIINA, and tables by Eric Schmitt Paris that is second to none: relaxed elegance and calming minimalism.
Sustainability
We believe that true comfort is always associated with natural, genuine materials. Throughout the house you will find almost exclusively natural materials such as brass, natural oak parquet, solid furniture, natural rubber mattresses and much more. Plastic is kept to a minimum.
Whenever possible, we work with local craftsmen and use regional food from local suppliers. Our own charging station for electric vehicles powered by green electricity and our free rental bicycles for guests ensure sustainable mobility.
